If you’ve got junky stuff and a scrappy spirit, make something new with something old and enter your project in Earth Day Canada’s 2011 Upcycling Challenge.

“Upcycling” is the very environmentally friendly practice of taking old, junky or unused materials and turning them into something useful and of greater value.

To enter, send us a description of your project with step-by-step instructions, pictures, or a video tutorial.

If our panel of judges thinks your project stands out, you could win Panasonic cordless power tools (to help you with future projects) and get some well-deserved exposure on our site. If you’re participating as a class or school, you could win an excellent, active learning tool—a Panaboard electronic whiteboard.

The contest opened October 3rd and runs until November 27th. That’s two months to start and finish your project!
